There are a lot of imitation Armor of God palys out there but these ones are the real deal and come from the original namer. These palys are about a half-inch in diameter and have a solid bright metallic red coloration. They are truly stunning, accept no substitutions.
Zoanthids and Palythoas are undoubtedly one of the best corals for beginner reef enthusiasts. They come in a huge range of colors and sizes and are generally extremely easy to care for. They will handle a wide variety of lighting and currents. They will also easily adapt to a wide range of water conditions. Many of the more common varieties of zoanthids are fast growers and will produce several new polyps every month once they are established in your reef. The more rare and expensive varieties tend to grow much more slowly and may be slightly more finicky about their placement and lighting levels. Supplementing your tank with iodine is a great way to keep your Zoanthids growing well as it is the main trace element they consume.
These corals are great for carpeting areas of your tank where you may not have room for corals that grow vertically. In addition, the majority of Zoanthids are not very aggressive and can come into contact with other zoanthids and soft corals without stinging one other.
It is important to note that many varieties of Zoanthids are highly toxic. Some people may be more sensitive than others. As a precaution when handling these corals you should avoid touching your mouth and eyes until you was your hands.
